Packrafting Costa Rica

Went down to Costa Rica to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, but gave myself and extra week to test Alpacka's new whitewater boat. The 8 lbs of rubber and aluminum are what I had been hoping for ever since I got my first packraft. Still light as hell, but built for whitewater, keeps the water out, lets you roll, and handles well. Hopefully the boat will be coming out this year. There are always times when your might want your hardshell, but being able to put your boat in a small bag and not think about where your going changes things. You can hike, hitchhike, and bike with it and barely realize its there. Costa Rica was magical and like every other trip I've been on ended too soon.

Urbaneering

Stuck in Baltimore looking for some excitement. Long boarding combined with packrafting led to a 15 mile adventure. Long boarded a downtown parking garage and boated under the confluence of three freeways. The dangers of this trip were not falling off cliffs but instead heroin needles on the banks of the harbor.
